1960 adjustable wall light, design by Floris Fiedeldij produced by his company Artimeta ( Soest, Netherlands ). Great black, soft yellow and chrome combination.
Very practical thanks to the many technical details; the chrome arm is able to twist and move up and down in it’s joint. Black suspension part with black swival arm that can be positioned 180 degrees, and the shade can move as well.

This light is documented in the 1960 Artimeta catalogue as well as in the Goed Wonen magazine of 1960 as the model ‘Ideaal’. They have been produced for only a short time, and over half a century ago, so quite a rare piece.
The practical features are quite comparable to the Anvia paperclip lights, but this light is definitely more exclusive.

After the second world war, Artimeta was one of the Dutch companies which became succesfull producing small metal furniture and lighting designs in a new, innovative European style. Besides the particular collaboration with Mathieu Matégot the origin for using slender shapes and wire structures for their designs can be found in the work of French and Italian designers.
