During the fifties, Matégot designed a series of ( small ) metal furniture, perforation patterns and household products for Dutch company Artimeta.
Artimeta was one of the Dutch companies who became succesfull producing small metal furniture and lighting designs in a new, innovative European style. Besides the particular collaboration with Mathieu Matégot the origin for using slender shapes and wire structures for their products can be found in the work of French and Italian designers. The main designer and owner of the company was Floris Fiedeldij.
