Pine wood small furniture created by Dutch designer A. van Apeldoorn for the company Houtwerk Hattem, 1960ies / 70ies
Great natural expression and grain pattern in the wood. Both are original edition, so one mentioned as a sidetable / album box and one as a wall console.
All in fair condition; normal usermarks by aging; small scuffs or small line in the wood here and there. Very solid construction. ( set price does not include gadgets and the black wire stool on the picture ).

The aestethic clean and angular lines are characteristic for the designs of van Apeldoorn’s furniture. Clearly influenced by ‘De Stijl’ movement and Skandinavian furniture by Tapiovaara. There are no decorative elements, all attention is focused on the appearance of the natural wood grain structure and the striking finger joint wood construction of the panels. The origin of van Apeldoorns work can be found in the hand-crafted house-hold and wood related decorative items, that van Apeldoorn started with during the late 1950ies.
