Signed all over from Denmark ; This very nice and hard to find original old edition ‘Spanish Chair’ ( model 2226 ) by Borge Mogensen. Produced by Danish furniture company Frederica. Together with designers Hans Wegner and Arne Jacobsen, Borge Mogensen (1914 -1972) created worldwide respect for Danish furniture design.
This amazing comfortable and functional chair is a typical example of Mogensen’s interpretation of traditional furniture. Mogensen drew inspiration from a trip to Spain in the late 1950ies, and one of the results was this design from 1959.
The big sized armrests give the chair a strong character and provide a practical place as well. The natural leather and rectangular oak structure gives this chair a very scandinavian vintage atmosphere.
Great vintage condition, beautiful patina on both leather and wood. Perfect construction and leathter is in great supple condition!
