Rare original fifties Coat rack in the manner of modern fifties designs by Tjerk Reijenga, Tomado and Coen de Vries.
These type of coat racks were produced in a number of different sizes and models by many ( Dutch ) companies at the time, ‘minimal fifties’ design on its best; needs hardly any space and offers a maximum of functionality. Thanks to its modern, colorful appearance at that time this design was also called the ‘musical scale’ in popular language, and refers to the popular jazz culture during that period. This one has a dark blue-grey frame, off white bars and hatshelve, and 10 colored metal hooks which can move along the bars. Good condition, some marks and spots on the hooks.
