German lighting company Cosack became succesful developing a number of subtle lighting designs. Exemplary is this very elegant table light from the early 1950ies. This light offered here features Italian modern style fifties looks. Attractive organic white shade on a heavy metal base to keep the light stable. Thanks to the ball-and-socket joint the shade will stay firm in every position. Great lizard skin paint finish on both base and shade.
Very good condition. All electrical parts have been checked completely and wiring through the whole fixture has been replaced. Light source one E-27 bulb holder. The light has a 250v chord, switch and plug, suitable for modern LED lights.
The reputation of 1950ies European modernist lighting producers rests on their drive to engage in new materials and in the quality finish of its products. The lighting designs created by Cosack are known for its well executed organic lines and especially the fifties designs have a remarkable floral appearance, which is complemented by the use of delicate materials such as thin painted aluminium and brass.
