Plywood teak mirror and rare wall mounted console from the Euroika series, made by Auping Netherlands and desigend by Famous industrial designer Friso Kramer in the early sixties.
The console has a plywood drawer that hangs in a black iron part under the plywood box. The mirror has a matt glass comb shelf.
Both are easy to attach to the wall.
All is complete and intact, mirror glass has minor aging spots along the edge. All cleaned and refreshed ( wax-oil ) by original methods. Sizes are: d25 w33 h32 cm ( console ) and h52 w33 d18 cm ( mirror )
Today, Kramer’s work is probably one of the most appreciated of its kind, and particulary the pieces developed during the fifties and sixties have become true collector items. The plywood designs are reminiscent to the early work of Borsani. Kramer can also be referred to in the same sentence as designers like Wim Rietveld, Prouve and Cees Braakman.
