Atelier Artiforte was a small company based in Rotterdam, specialized in hand-crafted lighting fixtures and nowadays well-known by their very progressive lighting designs, created by Kho Liang Ie, Johan Niegeman and H. Fillekes. Artiforte was able to create products which evoke a remarkable timeless appearance, and used quite delicate materials for many of their designs. This rare ST-46 by Kho Liang is made of a square profile metal black frame holding the original delicate fibre tube ( metal wire reinforced ) that covers 1 TL tube light.
It was produced for only a few years between the mid-fifties to ca 1960. The most of these lights already found their way to private collections all over the world.
The design is clearly influenced by the Italian lighting designs of the fifties by Arteluce and Stilnovo.
Condition: all complete, some small repairs or stains, electrical parts are checked. Gives a fantastic light when lit.
