TEAK NIGHT STANDS ‘HORATIO’
DESIGN / PRODUCER: KUPERUS 1950-1960
MEASUREMENTS: H 46, D 31, W 41 CM
PRICE: ON REQUEST
Midcentury teak nightstands by Kuperes, model called ‘Horatio’, pictured in the 1964 ‘Goed Wonen’ catalogue, pg 60. The fine teak material makes a warm compliment to the black metal frames, which create a floating, light appearance. Very symbolic for post-war European design, reflecting the new era of Danish style inspired furniture. During the sixties, many European furniture companies started to produce teak furniture in the modernist Scandinavian style. Dutch company Kuperus was clearly influenced by the designs of Auping ( Carelle series ), Cees Braakman / Pastoe ( Japanese series ).
Great opportunity, hard to find as a set.
