Large edition coat rack by Artimeta Soest, design Mathieu Mategot / F. H. Fiedeldij.
After the second world war, Artimeta was one of the Dutch companies which became succesful producing small metal furniture and lighting designs in a new, innovative European style. Besides the particular collaboration with Mathieu Matégot the origin for using slender shapes and wire structures for their designs can be found in the work of French and Italian designers.
According to some “Goed Wonen” advertisments referred to as ‘Mategot product’, though some original catalogue says it is designed by Fiedeldij ( who was the head designer at Artimeta ). Both original documentation available for inspection. Good condition, attractive ‘graphic’ black and white edition.
