Rare 1950ies table light by Philips, model NX 110. Together with the brass Z lamp this typical Dutch designed Philips light is one of his most characteristic designs and it can compete with the 1950ies designs of Hiemstra Evolux, Stilnovo, Hala and Anvia. Attractive grey lizard skin wrinkle finish that compliments the white and smooth bright red stand very well. Porcelain E27 bulbholder, suitable for modern LED bulbs.

From the mid-1920s to 1960 Dutch designer Louis Kalff established the advertising and design section of Philips. Kalff also designed the ‘Evoluon’ conference centre / museum of Eindhoven. This building is unique due to its futuristic sixties design, also resembling a flying saucer. Nowadays, some Kalff lighting designs are quite hard to find and being collected all over the world.
