Atelier Artiforte was a small company based in Rotterdam, specialized in hand-crafted lighting fixtures and nowadays well-known by their very progressive lighting designs, created by Kho Liang Ie, Johan Niegeman and H. Fillekes. Comparing to many other fifties design, Artiforte was able to create products which evoke a remarkable timeless appearance, and used quite delicate materials for many of their designs such as the thin, reinforced fiber tube for the ST-46 by Kho Liang Ie, or the nickel-like ‘satin’ chromed metal for many of the designs by H. Fillekes.

This model offered here light was produced for only a few years between the mid-fifties to ca 1960. The most of these lights already found their way to private collections all over the world, and it is hard to find one in the most attractive 1st edited version; the one with the tripod insect-like base and cone-shaped metal weight. Great major detail is the most efficient magnetic ball-and-socket joint, to which the design is named after.
Iconic Dutch lighting design, great opportunity.
Condition: All electrical parts have been checked or replaced when needed, the light is in excellent partly restored condition with preservation of authenticity, minimal wear and can be used in your home instantly.
