Impressive set of two large metal uplights / wall sconces designed by Giuseppe Ostuni for Oluce in 1951. Model called ‘Applique 131’.

The Italian Oluce lighting company was founded in 1945, and is the oldest Italian lighting company still in operation today. These rare 131 wall lights are one the very first designs by Ostuni.

The shade is made of thick white aluminium, the arm is made of thick brass. Both great condition, complete with all the suspension parts. No dents or damages, and wiring replaced through the whole fixture. Both lights have two normal E 27 bulbholders. Together with Stilnovo, Arteluce and Arredoluce, Oluce was a significant part of the first innovating Italian lighting companies of the 20th century. Fantastic set of identical lights, very exemplary for early fifties Italian lighting design.
