From the 1920ies until today, these handmade leather animals appeared in a variety of sizes and figures, such as pigs, rhino’s and elephants.
This beautiful, original vintage home pig footstool or ottoman is made of fine brown leather by original methods of production ( watch the details and hand stitches ).
During the last 50-80 years the color and surface of the leather has become really charming. There are clear usermarks, scuffs, and repair in the tail and body, but still a lovely decorative object, and sturdy enough to double as a footstool! Sometimes these leather animal figuers are reffered to as abercrombie and fitch or valenti as producer. Inspected well, wax-coated to preserve the leather.
