It was designed by Wim Rietveld for the Dutch Gispen company in 1954, and together with the wall light of the same series it became an instant commercial succes.
The optimistic color scheme and the Panama-hat shade are typical hallmarks of modern fifties design. Mark the nice finishing details; the construction of the mechanism of the adjustable light weight arm and aluminium shade, the wiring that has been decently covered and the solid metal heavy base.
Good condition, can be used right away in your home or office.
