Like all Japanese series the lines of this highboard are angular and without decorative elements, but in particular this symmetrical cabinet has a very puristic design of clarity and has great balanced proportions.

This cabinet offers two big compartments behind the lower folding doors ( shelves can be taken out ). Behind the white shelves are shelves and a compartment with a small drawer. The shelves itself can be used as a writing desk.
Hard to find these days, especially in this great condition; no watermarks or discoloration, no chips etc. All doors and shelves are working perfectly. Black metal base.

The forward-thinking designs of Cees Braakman (1917-1995) paved the way for success for Pastoe from the early fifties. In the beginning of his career Braakman went to the US to study design and production processes. Clearly inspired by designs of Eames and Knoll, Braakman and Pastoe introduced the bent plywood techniques into their first line of modern furniture. Cees Braakman was one of the most influentual designers of the Netherlands after the second world war.
