Original 1950ies hairpin desk, Dutch design Tijsseling ( Pastoe attributed ). The forward-thinking of Dutch designers such as Cees Braakman paved the way of success for a number of Dutch furniture companies. Clearly inspired by designs of Eames, Knoll and Danish furniture makers, Pastoe, Fristho, Tijsseling and many others introduced the bent plywood techniques and the use of prefab board into their first line of modern furniture.
The golden brown teak veneer, the rectangular shapes and the black accents gives this desk all the mid-century hallmarks. The characteristic flat steel hairpin legs give a floating appearance to the top and drawer boxes.
Quite a large top to work at ( 130×61 cm), left and right identical sized boxes.
Very good condition, all parts have been checked, all is looking great with normal usermarks ( one minor discoloration spot on the top ), All is solid, drawers working fine, Great opportunity!
