Thanks to a clever sliding construction, the top can be extended from 157 to 216 cm. The extra top disappears underneath the large top when slide back in its original position. Hard to find in this version and very good condition with minimal wear. Sliding mechanism works perfect.

The forward-thinking of Dutch designer Cees Braakman paved the way of success for the Dutch Pastoe furniture company. In his early career Braakman went to the US to study design and production processes. Clearly inspired by designs of Eames and Knoll, Braakman and Pastoe introduced the bent plywood techniques into their first line of modern furniture. The origin in the often angular shapes can be found in the work of Rietveld.
