Adjustable uplighter by Philips, 1950ies. Attractive, soft looking original off-silver paint with great patina.
The metal elbow arm can swivel to left and right, the shade can also move forward and back.
Wenge wood easy mounting wall suspension, comfortable switch in the 230 cm new wire. The light has one E27 bulbholder, suitable for modern LED bulbs. Wiring replaced through the whole fixture, all electrical and moving parts checked and in good condition. Minor marks on the paint. No denting.
From the mid-1920s to 1960 Dutch designer Louis Kalff established the advertising and design section of Philips. Kalff also designed the ‘Evoluon’ conference centre / museum of Eindhoven. This building is unique due to its futuristic sixties design, also resembling a flying saucer. Nowadays, some Kalff lighting designs are quite hard to find and being collected all over the world.
