Dutch company Pilastro ( Zwanenburg ) became succesful during the fifties, producing many symbolic small furniture. Designer Tjerk Reijenga created this modular system for the company, he also designed the famous ‘musical scale’ coat rack. Together with Tomado, Cado and Artimeta, Pilastro was the leader on the market for metal household furniture. This Pilastro unit is pictured in the 1960ies ‘Goed Wonen’ decorating magazine.
