Poul Jensen shared the aesthetical sensibilities of his forward-thinking Danish colleagues; together with designers such as Borge Mogensen, Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner, Jensen created worldwide respect for Danish furniture design. Selig Furniture was founded by Mendell Selig in the 1930s. By the 1950s the company had grown to become a leading producer and export company of contemporary Danish furniture. Selig was responsible for introducing many of the Scandinavian master designers to the US public during the 1950s.
