Original 1960s ‘Lotus’ lounge chair, designed by Dutch designer Rob Parry for Gelderland furniture.
In his early years, Rob Parry worked for Gerrit Rietveld, who also was his mentor. It is clear this chair has been inspired by the Rietveld designs. Considering its age this chair is still in very good condition and the ‘Ploeg’ fabric on the cushion is original and in very good condition. The foam inside also still feels great. The heavy, solid teak wood frame has some discoloration which looks or might be natural.

This chair design is exemplary to the modernist furniture movement of the Netherlands between 1950-1960. Any Pastoe, Spectrum or Gelderland furniture of that particular period would make a perfect match. Don’t hesitate to get in contact for a shipping quote for your country.
