PINEWOOD SIDEBOARD “NO. 521”

DESIGN: THEO ARTS

MEASUREMENTS: W 150, H 85.5, D 42 CM

Theo Arts, who worked together with the Goed Wonen foundation, started a small furniture company in Rotterdam where this small sideboard, model ‘521,’ was produced.
The unusual high stand, the black and natural wood color scheme and the puristic angular lines are all fifties modernist hallmarks. Behind the two sliding doors there are drawers and a shelve. The pine wood sliding doors have a warm, teak color looking appearance. The style is clearly influenced by the designs of Pastoe, Cees Braakman, Jaap Penraat and Ilmari Tapiovaara .
All doors and drawers are working fine, all parts are cleaned, all is solid with some normal usermarks.
( shelve and sliding doors can be taken out easily, compartment space D37 H46 W100 cm ).
Makes it a great addition to a minimalist fifties interior.
