This famous ‘Panama’ wall light was designed by Wim Rietveld for the Dutch Gispen company in 1954, and together with the floor and table light of the same series it became an instant commercial succes.
Sturdy crane-like grey metal arms and black Panama-hat shades, great finishing details and very complete; each light has a perfect replica diffuser, the original red spanner and a complete wall suspension with back part.

Very good condition, no damages, dents or broken parts, all electrical parts have been rewired.
The Dutch Gispen furniture company was founded in 1916 by industrial designer Willem Hendrik Gispen (1890-1981) and mainly produced steel ( tubular ) furniture for home and office. Until the 1960ies of the 20th century the company worked with several famous Dutch designers such as Gerrit Rietveld, Wim Rietveld and Andre Cordemeyer.
