Great table or writing desk by Ate van Apeldoorn. Aestethic clean and angular lines, There are no decorative elements, all attention is focused on the appearance of the natural wood grain structure and the striking finger joint wood connection of the 3 cm thick panels. Van Apeldoorn’s work can be seen in the midcentury context of Danish and Dutch functionalisme, influenced by Gerrit Rietveld and Cees Braakman.
The use of pine wood also strongly refers to traditional Skandinavian furniture / Shaker style. The compact design and the material evokes a warm and secure atmosphere.
