Very elegant and well-proportioned lighting design from the 1950ies by T. Busquet for Hala, in the typical manner of the progressive lighting designs from that same period. In the Netherlands, a number of bigger and smaller producers took the opportunity to innovate their company right after the second world war, and became successful producing ‘new Italian style’ lights, in the manner of their examples such as Arteluce and Stilnovo. Together with the modern furniture designs at the time, these Dutch lighting designs were promoted by the Goed Wonen ( “Good Living” ) Foundation, and shown and sold at the important exhibitions and quality department stores ( ‘de Bijenkorf’ ) at the time.
