This impressive large floor light, called the Slack 1, is most exemplary for the works of Dutch interior designer and architect Mart van Schijndel.
According to his perception, the products’ result should be more than just the sum of its component parts; during the proces of combining the right elements it should be overshadowed by the lyrical aspect of the end result. Van Schijndels work can be characterised as exoticly minimal and down to the minutest perfectly balanced.
The Slack 1 was produced by his own company ‘ Martech’, in just a limited edition, hand-made. There are 2 versions, big and small. This one is the most recommendable;  its modest height makes it perfect for home use ( the other size is almost 2 meter ).
The off white enamel painted body is made of heavy sheet metal, and holds a dimmable halogen uplighter in the top, which turns the ceiling into a perfect diffuse light source. Thanks to the open structure of the light, the spot also throws some subtle light downwards, to accentuate the magnificant shapes of the sculptural body.

Good condition.
