The forward-thinking of Braakman paved the way of success for the Dutch Pastoe furniture company. In his early career Braakman went to the US to study design and production processes. Clearly inspired by designs of Eames and Knoll, Braakman and Pastoe introduced the bent plywood techniques into their first line of modern furniture.
