Original sixties pine wood sideboard by Pastoe, Dutch design by Cees Braakman. This model is called ‘Oregon’ and is pictured in the original Pastoe catalogue of 1962, pg 82. The patinated, darkened pine makes a great match with the off-white front panels. The solid pine wood Rietveld -like base gives a light and floating appearance to the body. Inside teak finish, both shelves can be taken out. Typical for Pastoe are the plywood drawers. Manufacturers label inside. The choise of using pine wood was inspired by the sixties pine craze, initiated by Ate van Apeldoorn and Tapiovaara, Cees Braakman clearly was inspired by the chair designs introduced in the early fifties by Herman Miller and Knoll. Great restored and ready to use condition ( natural pine discoloration on top, ink spot inside one drawer )
