Dutch fifties design icon, this model 8000 lounge chair designed by Tjerk Reijenga for Pilastro Zwanenburg.

Together with Pastoe, Fristho and Tomado, Pilastro was a progressive furniture company that became succesfull during the fifties.
This Pilastro ‘8000’ chair was designed using technology for molding plywood that the Eames developed during The Second World War. The havana steel rod frame in combination with the natural teak plywood parts gives this chair a warm and elegant appearance. The fabulous armrests are the typical hallmark of this model, and very comfortable!

Good condition, rivets, frame and weldings eleborate checked. The chair is highly inspired by the DCM chair and the SE 68 by Egon Eiermann but this chair is definitely more exclusive!
