Italian architect and industrial designer Gae Aulenti is one of the few well recognized women in postwar design. Aulenti made a name with a broad spectrum of elegant and innovative work for a.o. Zanotta, Artemide, Guzzini and Tecno.

This large ‘Pipistrello’ lamp is probably her most famous piece. It was designed in 1966 for Martinelli Luce, Italy. The Pipistrello lamp gets its name from the similarity the acrylic shade has to the wings of a bat. The elegant steel base is adjustable in height. The shade covers four bulbholders ( E 14 ). Manufacturers lable ( Martinelli Luce ) inside.

All parts of the lamp are in very well condition; this light is hardly indistinguishable from new!
