Attractive complete teak writing desk from the Netherlands.
The golden brown teak veneer, the rectangular shapes and the asymmetrical accent gives this desk all the mid-century hallmarks. The characteristic hairpin-legs gives a floating appearance to the top and box.
Very minimal, but still quite a large top to work at, and the storage box offers a lot of space too.

The forward-thinking designs of Cees Braakman (1917-1995) paved the way for success for Pastoe from the early fifties. In the beginning of his career Braakman went to the US to study design and production processes. Clearly inspired by designs of Eames and Knoll, Braakman and Pastoe introduced the bent plywood techniques into their first line of modern furniture. Cees Braakman was one of the most influentual designers of the Netherlands after the second world war.
